The World Health Organization (WHO) has released a new technical brief that addresses the global community of the many risks and infections that the Omicron variant brings to the public. The organization said that global infection risk is high, something that somehow orders to slow down the reopening of many industries like traveling or leisure activities.

According to NPR, some warnings say countries which have low vaccination rates are more likely to succumb to the Omicron variant, something that provides a risk for all who will get infected by it. Moreover, this affects the many problems of the country that are anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers, something that would contribute to the spread of the virus.

With that, here are old guidelines that would protect people against COVID-19 which are still the recommended safety precaution to be used now.

Wear Face Masks

There are a lot of disputes and problems regarding the wearing of face masks in different places, especially as different trends online have focused on covering certain parts of the face only, which is dangerous and reckless.

Properly wearing a face mask can effectively shut off any trace of the virus from entering one's mouth and nose, filtering out the air that a person breathes, changing it when needed, and properly disposing of it after its use. Face masks are still a must these days, especially as people can still get infected despite their vaccines or immunity.

Get Vaccinated

Another protection that a person can get from COVID-19 is to have themselves vaccinated, and this will never be a tiring phrase for health workers to say as it is the protection that a person can get from COVID. Yes, it does not eradicate the virus but it helps in keeping a person safe and knowing how to fight against COVID to prevent its deadly effects.

Boosters are even given now to further protection and immunity, and having the jabs are something that should be taken seriously now.

Social Distancing

Social Distancing is a way to avoid getting droplets or virus-carrying components to fall on one's body part, which would be the reason to get infected by the coronavirus now. Staying away with a good distance of at least six feet is enough to help in minimizing the chance of getting infected by the virus and avoid unpleasant interactions with people.

Hygiene and Cleanliness

Before vaccines and medicines, the best and only way to rid of the Coronavirus is to maintain clean hygiene and disinfect everything possible to be the source of the virus. From clothes to the body, and the food that people eat, everything needs to be clean and disinfected to kill off traces of the virus from staying on a certain object or surface.
