Windows 10 users will not be left behind as they still get feature updates on a yearly basis, similar to how Microsoft does it with the latest Windows 11.
Windows 10 to Get Features Updates Yearly
Microsoft announced the new feature update cycle of the older Windows 10 after its November 2021 patch has arrived in the machines of its users, as per the report by Tech Radar.
That said, folks who are still clinging to the older operating of Microsoft for reasons like personal preference or hardware limitations are still getting new features annually.
Microsoft said that Windows 10 is getting its future feature additions in 2022 to match the update cycle of its younger sibling, the Windows 11, which also introduces new functions every year.
The head of Windows servicing and delivery of Microsoft, John Cable, revealed that the tech giant is transitioning "Windows 10 release cadence to align with the Windows 11 cadence, targeting annual feature update releases."
The Microsoft exec further assured users of the older Windows 10 that they are getting another feature update sometime in the second half of next year.

Windows 10's Future
Meanwhile, The Verge said in its news story that the announcement of Microsoft regarding the rollout of the new features in Windows 10 shine a light on the future of the older OS.
It is worth mentioning that the tech giant behind the Windows software did not talk about its plans for the aging version of the OS as it boasted the latest Windows 11 back in Aug.
On top of that, it is to note that a recent study shows that more than half of the specs of workstations could not officially run Windows 11.
It comes as Microsoft's requirements for the new OS leave out tons of low-spec machines. That said, massive amounts of PC users will be forced to settle with Windows 10, at least until they get to upgrade their computers to match the standards that the tech giant has laid out.
Still, The Verge added in the same report that the November 2021 feature update that reached Windows 10 users is considered minor in terms of new functionalities.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has yet to unveil the contents of the upcoming update for the second half of 2022. But if the latest features patch is to be based upon, there's not much to expect.
On top of that, it would not be long enough until Microsoft kills its support for Windows 10, which will end on Oct. 14, 2025.
