"Call of Duty Vanguard" has been called out by the Muslim community globally because of the insensitive content that it has published earlier on its Zombies Map, having a "Quran" copy on the floor. The content was insensitive to the religion and culture of Muslims, something that Activision was called out for, and has been removed from its game code.
Activision Removes Insensitive Content
Call of Duty Middle East's Twitter account has issued a statement that is written in Arabic, saying that it is apologizing for the insensitive content that it has released with the new game. Here, the game publishers have also said that it has taken out the "Quran from the floor" issue from the game, taking it away from the game's code.
It has been first spotted by the player that posted his complaints on Twitter, noticing the holy book of the Muslims casually laying on the floor. And while the setup of the game is on war or amidst a conflict, such insensitive content is not tolerated by the gaming community that went hand-in-hand to create their voice for Activision to hear.
Activision Apologizes for Quran Issue
Activision has already apologized for the issue using their social media platform, but it was not translated or cascaded to accounts from other countries, including that of America in the English format. The reason for that remains unknown but the company has gone on to remove this on their platform to avoid further damages that they have already caused.
Players are now keen to "Vanguard" and other parts of the game for other content that is insensitive or disrespectful.
Activision's 'Call of Duty Vanguard'
Activision's "Call of Duty Vanguard" has not made a good start on its release, and it is because of overlooked insensitive content that has been called out by a gamer, as well as the gaming community. Despite the company removing it already, the damage has been done and people are now looking more into the game's other content.
The game was one of the most awaited titles from Activision and the "Call of Duty" franchise that has seen a shortage of release this year, compared to 2020's "Black Ops Cold War." The 2021 release has given an impressive look for gamers, bringing the game to new heights and focusing on the franchise that continues on its action-adventure.
The "Modern Warfare" sequel that is awaited by gamers is focusing on pushing it for a 2022 release, something that would expand the franchise more to greater heights. Activision should be more careful in its next releases to avoid problems like this, leading to disrespectful content that would offend people in its games.
