"Batman: Arkham Knight's" sequel was supposedly coming from Warner Bros. Games Montreal, but was ultimately canceled due to unknown reasons, having two titles removed from the franchise. The popular game is still awaited for its next outing, but it seems that there is nothing from WB Games' end.
Good thing is that a concept art that is loosely based on this leaks online, showing the new Caped Crusader with Damian Wayne, and Bruce Wayne having a thick beard showing signs of age.
'Batman: Arkham Knight Sequel' Leaks Concept Art
A Redditor named bananapeeler2's concept art regarding the new Batman game from Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Games Montreal has been leaked via Twitter. It shows different costumes, characters, and elements of the next game that did not come to fruition due to unknown reasons of its developers.
It was said that the concept art came from Goran Bukvic, and it focuses on what "could have" been the next look of the Batman gaming franchise from the company. It would focus on an aging Bruce Wayne that still dons the Batman suit, and a new version of the character under Damian Wayne's direction, sporting his ever-popular red logo.
'Batman: Arkham Knight' Sequel: What Happened?
The sequel from Warner Bros. Games Montreal and Rocksteady never came, and despite the massive request and fanbase for the game franchise, it did not take off. Nevertheless, this does not mean that the game is scrapped by the studio, but it has taken long enough for people to think it is being scrapped by the company.
The DC Fandome 2021 has made no mention of the Caped Crusader's "Arkham" series from Rocksteady and WB Games Montreal.
'Batman: Arkham' Franchise
Batman's legacy has both been massive on the comic book and the gaming media, as the Caped Crusader remains one of the popular heroes that donned the pop culture. Warner Bros. Games Montreal initially had been rumored to feature its sequel that would focus on the "Batman: Arkham" franchise that has been popular for a long time now.
The game was developed by Rocksteady Studios, focusing on the titles including "Batman: Arkham Asylum" in 2009, "Batman: Arkham City" in 2011, "Batman: Arkham Origins" in 2013, and the last one is "Batman: Arkham Knights" in 2015. The game has led up to the growth of Batman, showing his comic book story where players get to be the World's Greatest Detective.
Here, the new game would focus on its next-generation, his sole heir, Damian Wayne initially trained by the League of Assassins, to become the hero Gotham needs. It would also focus on Bruce Wayne's future, as an aging crime-fighting hero that would help in molding the future of Gotham through the hands of the new Batman.
