MacBook Pro's notch could be an eyesore to some Apple users even if the Cupertino giant touted that it is a "really smart" design feature.
MacBook Pro
Apple introduced the iPhone-like notch to the 2021 MacBook Pro series last Oct 18, which includes the new 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro.
The series of MacBook Pro models also re-introduced the ports that the Apple laptop once had, including the MagSafe charging port, SD card reader, 3.5 headphones and microphone jack, as well as an HDMI provision.
On top of that, the new MacBook Pro models also unveiled beastly variants of the M1 chip, known as the M1 Pro and the M1 Max.
MacBook Pro's Notch
Despite welcome features like the more powerful chips and the return of the ports, some users are divided in the massive notch on the display of the new MacBook Pro models.
Nevertheless, as per 9to5Mac, Apple still argues that the notch on the MacBook Pro model gives more usable space even with the 1080p camera upgrade.
It is worth noting that the front-facing camera of previous MacBook models is found on top of the menu bar.
On the other hand, the notch is now found in between the menu bar of the MacBook. Thus, Apple claims that it gives its users more usable space when compared to the previous design.
