And the winners of Golden Globes 2014 are...

"12 Years a Slave" and "American Hustle" were awarded best drama and best musical or comedy, respectively at the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards held in Beverly Hills, California, Sunday. Director David O. Russell's "American Hustle" was the top winner with three Globes out of seven nominations while Steve McQueen's "12 Years a Slave" took home only one award out of seven nominations.

The Golden Globe Awards is often seen as a forecaster for the show business' highest honors, the Academy Awards to be held on March 2 and this year's Golden Globe awardees may just make the cut for getting an Oscar.

Matthew McConaughey, who starred as Ron Woodroof in the film "Dallas Buyers Club", took home the award as best actor in drama while Cate Blanchett bagged the award for best actress in Drama as Jasmine Francis in "Blue Jasmine". Leonardo DiCaprio, on the other hand, was named best actor in a musical or comedy for his role as Jordan Belfort in "The Wolf of Wall Street" while Amy Adams took the award's female counterpart as Sydney Prosser in "American Hustle".
