iOS 15's Conversation Boost feature for the second-generation AirPods Pro is now officially available, which Apple first unveiled during its WWDC last June 7.
The Cupertino giant finally rolled out the Conversation Boost function for its AirPods Pro via a firmware update known as 4A400, which was also released to other wireless earphones of the firm, including the AirPods and the AirPods Max, as per GizmoChina.
However, it is to note that the Conversation Boost is exclusively available on the latest AirPods Pro.
Conversation Boost on AirPods Pro: How it Works
According to 9to5Mac, the Conversation Boost feature that comes along with the iOS 15 seeks to improve its user's ability to hear other people talking around them.
The tech giant said during its launch that the feature is actually meant for users who are experiencing some hearing difficulties. But still, it is available for the rest of the AirPods Pro users, which could help in situations that hinder communication, such as too much external noise.
That said, the Conversation Boost seeks to be an alternative for hearing aids, but it still does not do the full-blown job of the latter.
The said feature works by using the microphones of the AirPods Pro to amplify the conversations from other folks that the user is interacting with.
So, the other person will no longer need to speak louder or adjust the pitch of their voice. Instead, the AirPods Pro feature will do the job to attempt making the face-to-face conversations seamless.
On top of that, the Conversation Booster also provides an option that could lower down the ambient noise in the environment to make the voice clearer.

How to Enable Conversation Boost on AirPods Pro
However, despite the noteworthy function of the Conversation Boost, Apple still decided to hide the feature beneath the Accessibility settings of iOS 15.
Although turning the feature on is relatively easy, some users may find the process of looking for it quite difficult.
To cut to the chase, here's how to enable the Conversation Boost feature on iOS 15:
- Connect your AirPods Pro to your iPhone via Bluetooth.
- Open the iOS 15 Settings app.
- Scroll down to Accessibility and tap it.
- Swipe down for the Physical and Motor section
- Then, select AirPods.
- After which, tap on the Audio Accessibility Settings.
- Select Headphone Accommodations. Make sure to toggle it on.
- Now, select Custom Audio Setup.
- Then, look for the Customize Transparency Mode.
- Swipe down and toggle on Conversation Boost.
After a couple of tapping and scrolling, that's it--you may now use the Conversation Boost feature to hear people better despite the problem of noisy environments.
