It's been a bit quiet on the royal front since Kate Middleton announced her pregnancy with her second child back in September. Luckily, some news just came out today to satisfy our thirst for some developments of royal proportions.
Kate Middleton officially joined the Twitterverse today along with Prince William and Prince Harry in the collective Twitter account @KensingtonPalace. It really is too bad that they each didn't get their own accounts, but hey, it's better than nothing.
For the uninitiated, Kensington Palace is the main residence of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. Kate Middleton and Prince William moved into their newly renovated apartment there with son George in October 2013 after living in Nottingham Cottage for 18 months.
Here's how the royals' first day on Twitter went down. Their first couple of tweets will go down in Twitter history, obvi.

They were appreciative when they got some high-profile followers.

Prince Harry and Carmelo Anthony appeared at the graduation for The Royal Foundation's Coach Core program, which helps aspiring young people become coaches, and it warmed all of our hearts.

We already have something to look forward to tomorrow.

I, for one, am very excited to be able to have a more intimate and candid look inside the lives of Kate Middleton, Prince William and Prince Harry. Can the life of Prince Harry actually get any more exposed? I'm not sure that's possible, but I'm excited to find out.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like any of the royals are actually writing and sending tweets themselves just yet. Come on, even your 88-year-old grandmother has tweeted before.
It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R.
