According to the story by PhoneArena, one of the very first foldable smartphones, the classic Motorola Razr, is now finally getting an operating system update to Android 11.
The phone was released back in 2019, and the original Razr has been able to receive the long awaited Android 10 update last year.
As of the moment, judging by the Motorola commitment when it comes to Android updates, the article by PhoneArena reportedly expected just one last major upgrade to come from the company this 2021.
It is still unconfirmed, however, if the Android 11 is really the last update for the Motorola Razr.
Motorola Android 11 Update and Security Patch
In the United States, Verizon has already been able to deliver the promises of Motorola, or at least is about to do so.
The Big Red had quietly updated the original Motorola Razr support page by adding information regarding the foldable phone's next major update: Android 11.
Verizon officially noted that the update has already been released on Friday, Aug. 13. Due to this, many Motorola Razr owners might have already received the Android 11 updates.
Along with all of the new Android 11 goodies, the update also included another July 2021 security patch.
OTA Update for Razr Users
The over the air, or OTA update can also be either downloaded through Wi-Fi or by using the official Verizon Wireless network.
For those that have not yet received notification regarding the Android 11 update, it can be manually checked for by going to Settings, clicking on About phone, then clicking on System updates.
With the Samsung Unpacked unveiling the upgraded Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, which is a new smartphone that is utilizing more classical smartphone technology, it might be a good move for Motorola to upgrade its Razr.

Aside from just being foldable, the phone's touch screen technology has been able to fix the potential blind spot that might have existed in between the two sides of the phone.
With the Motorola Razr Android 11 update, fans of foldable phones could get a more affordable alternative!
