WHO (World Health Organization) is currently busy finding ways to control the rising cases of COVID-19 as it still massively affects various countries, including the United States.
The international health agency works with CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and other government departments to neutralize the new Delta and Lambda variants. Now, it seems like WHO and its medical experts would face another deadly virus discovered in West Africa.
The so-called Marburg is a virus comparable to Ebola. Various doctors and other health researchers said that this new disease now sparks fears, chaos, and fatalities similar to when the Ebola virus spread across West Africa from 2013 to 2016.
Currently, doctors living in West Africa are currently struggling to keep up with the patients since the new Marburg virus seems to be more deadly than Ebola.
WHO Says Marburg Should Be Prevented!
According to the US Sun's latest report, Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, the regional director of WHO Africa, is currently concerned since the new Marburg virus could also spread across the globe.

However, they didn't confirm if it is more infectious than the current COVID-19 strains.
"We are working with the health authorities to implement a swift response that builds on Guinea's past experience and expertise in managing Ebola, which is transmitted in a similar way," said WHO Regional Director.
The international health agency said that the new disease was discovered in a man from Guinea. Involved medical researchers explained that the resident developed symptoms on July 25. Because of this, he was admitted to a local clinic on Aug. 1.
WHO confirmed that the infected individual died after he went to the hospital near the village. In other news, United Airlines decided to require their employees to get COVID-19 vaccines.
On the other hand, a new COVID-19 study claimed that unvaccinated individuals are two times more likely to get infected.
How Serious is Marburg Virus?
According to CNN World's latest report, the WHO claimed that the new virus is transmittable via fruit bats. On the other hand, some experts also believed that Marburg could spread from human to human.
They added that it could be spread through direct contact with bodily fluids or solid surfaces, which are also quite similar to COVID-19.
When it comes to mortality rate, WHO claims that it has around 24% to 88% fatality rate, however, the World Health Organization is still investigating the new disease. There's still a chance that their record could change once their study is complete.
