Apple now asks its employees' COVID-19 vaccination status in some locations to prevent the transmission of the virus in their offices. However, the staff of the Cupertino giant has an option not to disclose their inoculation status.
The latest move came after Tim Cook considered requiring their employees to be vaccinated before going back to the offices of Apple.
It is to note, though, that the Cupertino titan has yet to decide on the matter.
As per MacRumors, Cook went on to reveal that Apple is observing the situation closely to come up with a decision soon, adding that he wanted to make sure that the vaccination requirement "is the right answer."
The Apple exec made the pronouncements the same day Google decided to require all employees to get their COVID-19 vaccines before returning to its offices.
Other companies have yet to come up with a decision to do the same to ensure the protection of their workers from the wrath of the virus.
Apple Employees' COVID-19 Vaccination Status
A reporter of The Verge, Zoe Schiffer, disclosed that Apple has been providing its employees with vaccination guidelines as the company gears up for the comeback of their staff in their offices.
As part of that, the Cupertino giant wanted to specifically know if they have gotten their COVID-19 vaccination or not.
Apple is asking whether a person has been vaccinated partially or fully, or not yet.
AppleInsider further clarified that even as the Cupertino giant is asking about the vaccination status of their employees, it does not determine whether they could go to the office or not.
Apple Employees Can Choose Not to Share
It is worth noting that Apple employees who "do not wish to share" can do so.
However, if a person opts not to disclose his or her vaccination status, the company will automatically categorize them as unvaccinated.
Schiffer further added that the unvaccinated employees will have to subscribe to "additional health and safety protocols," as per the internal human resources website of Apple.
With these guidelines being in place, Apple is likely not going the same route as Google, giving their unvaccinated employees a chance to go back to the offices. But the Cupertino giant has yet to announce its decision.

Apple Employees in Office
Previously, Apple decided to bring back their corporate employees to the offices by September. It was supposed to introduce a hybrid setup, requiring workers to report for work at least three days a week.
However, Apple's planned shift to normal operations has been delayed to October as the COVID-19 Delta variant has been increasing the risk of the novel coronavirus.
