Anti-COVID-19 X-Ray Tech Could Identify Coronavirus Weak Spots and Create New Medicines

A new anti-COVID-19 x-ray is believed to have the ability to detect major weak spots of the novel coronavirus. However, developers did not confirm if it is efficient against the rising new strains, such as Delta COVID-19.

If the researchers further enhance the new x-ray, there's a high chance that it can be used against new COVID-19 strains. Medical experts are currently improving this new health technology at Diamond Light Source in Oxfordshire.

They are also getting involved in more than 60 projects about the novel coronavirus. Professor Sir Dave Stuart, the director of Life Sciences, said that the viral COVID-19 virus is one of the most intensively studied viruses ever recorded.

"It was only in January 2020 that we knew anything about the virus and it was identified. The genetic sequence of the virus was published from China and there was a tremendous burst of activity, which carries on," he added.

How does the New Anti-COVID-19 X-Ray Works?

According to ITV's latest report, the new anti-COVID-19 x-ray is also known as the synchrotron, which is also used in other studies at Diamond Light Source. Experts said that this medical innovation works like a giant

microscope.

It also has the capability to speed up electrons until they produce light 10 billion times brighter than the sun emits. Experts will use these light bams to study the main structure of the COVID-19.

Thanks to the new x-ray's advanced feature, they can identify the weak spots of the virus, allowing them to create new treatments and medicines to neutralize the deadly disease.

Diamond Light Source's medical experts claim that the new technology is pretty accurate in most cases. However, since it still lacks some essential features, there are also some instances when the x-ray doesn't provide reliable findings.

COVID-19 Delta Now Covers 58% of US Infected Cases

Because COVID-19 is still ravaging different parts of the world, experts are also trying to create new technologies that could help them reduce or prevent further COVID-19 cases.

As of the moment, ABC News reported that the new Delta variant causes almost 58% of new cases in the United States. It seems like CDC's recent claim that Delta could become the most dominant strain is coming true. Right now, the best thing you can do as a resident is to follow the safety instructions of U.S. government officials.
