Cal State University, or California State University, is giving away iPad Air, Apple Pencils, and Smart Keyboards to 35,000 students that would register to the "CSUCCESS" program across all campuses. Anyone is eligible to participate, and the only requirement is that they are new or transferring students to the university, as part of the pandemic aid relief of the institution.
The biggest takeaway of COVID-19 is that schooling and work can be done through the online platform, and not only a select number of people can undergo that setting. The only hindrance for some is the lack of a stable internet connection, as well as insufficient equipment to use.
Cal State University's iPad Air, Accessories under CSUCCESS Program
According to Cal State, the university is giving away as much as 35,000 units of Apple's iPad Air to students, and would also provide necessary accessories to complete the experience. These devices would fill the gap of the need for a personal computer or laptops, without the bulk of it. Moreover, it would resemble that of a PC, especially when paired with accessories.
This is under the CSUCCESS Program which stands for "California State University Connectivity Contributing to Equity and Student Success," aimed at giving students their needs especially as the pandemic rendered some unable to provide for themselves.
CSU Chancellor Joseph I. Castro thinks that the iPad Air is an "important tool" to be used in the learning experience of the students, and is glad to have this program available for everyone. Moreover, the school's campuses are also expanding on other tech needs including WiFi mobile hotspots, all under an $18 million budget.
How to Join or Register?
The only requirement is to be a Cal State student across its eight campuses (Bakersfield, Channel Islands, Fresno, Humboldt, Los Angeles, Maritime Academy, Northridge, San Marcos). Additionally, it would only be offered to new students and transferees to the university, by registering on their website for CSUCCESS.
This venture would empower students, and Apple is thrilled to be able to provide the learning tools the student and university needs for their future endeavors.
Apple is also known to be one of the most successful companies amidst this pandemic, also looking into adopting a hybrid work schedule instead of a fully remote or office-based setup.
When to Get the iPad Air, Accessories?
Students would receive their iPad Air and its accessories by its distribution on August 11, so users must register as early as now for the device.
Cal State is offering a 64 GB iPad Air, Apple Pencil, Smart Keyboard (Folio), and technology support for its students.
Moreover, this program is intended for the fall term enrollees, and other semesters or terms may not be allowed to join.
