"Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut" is coming out this August amidst all the rumors, finally!
Director's Cut? What For?
The "Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut" includes all of what you love about the game and its setting, and has added a few things as well. There will be a new chapter in the story of Jin's life, the game's protagonist.
As Jin travels to the neighboring island of Tsushima towards Iki, developer Sucker Punch explained in their blog that in the new story, Jin investigates possible rumors of Mongols. However, the protagonist gets caught up in a series of events that would make him relive his deeply personal story that forces his demons to catch up to him.
An announcement trailer has just been uploaded on YouTube showing tidbits of what you'd expect, as well as some non-spoiler content to keep fans itching to play the Director's Cut once it's out.
What's in Iki?
The island of Iki brings an all-new environment to explore and conquer. There are also a new host of characters to interact with, and new enemies to outwit and, ultimately, slaughter.
In addition, there are said to be possible new mini-games and, most importantly, new techniques to master.
The new Iki chapter will be available for players for PS4 and PS5 users. PS5 users will be getting significant upgrades that the console can do, including 3D audio, faster load times, 4k resolution, and 60 frames-per-second (FPS). They will also be treated with a lip-sync over the game's Japanese voice-over.
On the day of the release of the Director's Cut, there will be a free update for all players that includes an all-new photo mode update, opt to enable target lock-on while in combat, accessibility options for controller remapping, and hide your quiver in-game.
How to Get 'Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut'
"Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut" will be available full-price on digital as well as physical copies on its release on August 20th.
The full price would cost you USD 59.99 for PS4 and 69.99 USD for PS5 users. If you can pre-order at the PS Store, then you can download the existing PS4 version right away and be able to transfer all your progress towards the Director's Cut.
If you already own the original game, however, the Director's Cut will cost you less.
It'll be USD 19.99 for PS4 users for the upgrade and USD 29.99 for those who own the PS5. Also, if you own the PS4 Director's Cut, you can upgrade to the PS5 version for just USD 9.99.
Sucker Punch is also teasing that "Ghost of Tsushima: Legends" will feature an "all-new" model that the developer has not yet discussed. However, for sure; once the Director's Cut comes out on August 20th, many more people will try out the game and follow Jin's story in this wonderfully made game.
