League of Legends: Changes to Lillia
"League of Legends" game designer Riot Maxw3ll has posted a tweet about all the changes that will be applied to Lillia come Patch 11.14. The designer notes that the changes are subject to change, and "if these changes don't land well, we'll be looking for a follow-up."
According to Dot Esports, Lillia will be getting small buffs to her armor and health regen, as well as a new passive that allows her to heal while in a battle against large monsters. A "buff" happens when updates are made, and a character becomes stronger as a result.
Lillia also gets an additional Ability Power when in a battle against enemy champions, while her W's base damage and damage ratios will be buffed as well.
As for "nerfs," or updates to a character that makes them weaker, it should be expected for Lillia. It can be seen with her Q, specifically movement speed and mana cost. According to Dot Esports, the changes make it "less efficient to spam as Lillia's main source of damage at early levels."
Nerfed and Buffed Champions
In a separate tweet, Jeevun Sidhu, the current lead game designer on Summoner's Rift Team for "League of Legends," listed the champions that will be nerfed, buffed, or will receive adjustments.
Buffed "League" champions in Patch 11.14 include Darius, Garen, Graves, Illaoi, Ivern, Rek'sai, Taric, and Seraphine.
On the opposite end, Riot Games champions will be nerfing in the upcoming patch include Akali, Karma, Malzahar, Nocturne, Shaco, Xin Zhao, and Ziggs.
Champion adjustments will also be made. Dr. Mundo's flexibility will be adjusted towards the top and jungle. Tahm Kench will receive similar adjustments in terms of flexibility toward support and top. Other champions who will get flexibility adjustments also include Irelia and Lillia.
Sidhu likewise revealed that there would be a systems buff included in Patch 11.14, specifically involving Dead Man's Plate.
'League' Gamers React
The rather extensive list of buffs, nerfs, and adjustments have sent "League of Legends" fans abuzz on social media.
Responding in a follow-up tweet to fans' questions about Gwen, who was added to the game last April, and her absence on both lists of buffed and nerfed champions, Sidhu stated that "her solo queue metrics are quite reasonable in terms of both win rate and ban rate."
He also clarified that any nerfs for Viego has not made a pro patch yet.
Streamer and content creator LS replied to Sidhu's tweet with his reaction to the announcement. The steamer questioned why champions are punished " usually unasked for ways" soon after their items get buffed.
Twitter user _Viegona also questions Riot Games' decision to take away Lillia's only escape tool at the start of the game, leaving her unable to contain anything or run away.
He tweeted, "This is ridiculous. Have you played Lillia in the current meta?"
