Google's new 4K Plus add-on will cost users a whopping $19.99 on top of their already quite pricey $65 subscription. For those already thinking that YouTube TV prices have started to skyrocket, this is not wrong. The service has increased its price from years ago.
YouTube TV Subscription Price
According to the story by PhoneArena, the YouTube TV subscription price is currently at $65 a month. The service, however, started at a friendlier price a few years ago. When the service launched, users were expected to pay just $35 instead of the $65 today.
Aside from the price that YouTube TV customers will have to pay for them to access a number of their favorite channels, Google has also added several different perks that aren't included in the base package itself. Most recently, a new feature that would improve video quality has been added as well.
Google 4K Plus Add-on Feature
The most recent add-on by Google is the 4K Plus which does exactly what the name suggests. It allows viewers to watch their shows in 4K content. However, users will only be able to watch a number of "select live" and other "on-demand" content in 4K coming from channels like ESPN, Discovery, FX, Fox Sports, Nat Geo, Tastemade, and NBC Sports.
It is also worth mentioning that in order for this to work, users will still need an additional gadget just like a compatible 4K enabled TV and or other streaming devices. Basically speaking, if the hardware can handle 4K resolution, this new add-on feature won't really have a significant effect.

Google 4K Add-On Price
Aside from users being able to watch their content in 4K, the add-on will also allow users to download shows in order for them to be viewed online. Users will also get unlimited streams whenever they are at home in comparison to the current limit at just three streams.
The add-on will come at a price. If users are sold out and want to watch their content at 4K resolution, users will have to pay an additional $19.99 per month, according to the blog post by YouTube. However, the good news is that users can still enjoy the first month for free if they decide to sign up right now and be charged a discounted price of $10 a month for the rest of the year.
This particular feature, however, is only available for customers in the United States. They already have an active YouTube TV subscription and would subscribe to the 4K Plus add-on for the very first time ever. Although the add-on feature can be quite pricey to some, others might enjoy the additional 4K and wouldn't mind paying extra to get a better resolution when streaming online.
