Since the beginning of time, the world has been shaped by leaders. We know more or less and have our own words if we should write down the definition of a leader.
Known as the founder of Boost Mind and entrepreneur, Baptiste Monnet was born in Thailand. He was adopted and grew up in Switzerland. Since his young age, he has always had this need to be useful to human beings. This need came from the fact that he never got to know his biological parents. Furthermore, his adoptive parents separated when he was a teenager. Through the absence of his parents due to the various events and ups and downs of life, Baptiste was able to find his way.
We know that Baptiste worked in the field of logistics and customer service. Later on, he also worked in the security field where he had to accomplish various missions such as participating in the protection of a Saudi prince and an American secretary when they stayed in Switzerland. Then he worked as a social educator-coach in the field of insertion and reinsertion for adults.
Through his personal and professional background, being himself a spectator and actor of events, he has been able to observe and implement his advice during his various coaching sessions.
Important points to be a good leader for a team
Baptiste: "A good leader must not always be right. - First of all, I don't think I have the exact meaning of the word leader. But I know that between what I see and what I think I see, there is a huge difference. I interpret. This is an important moment. Unfortunately, many people don't take this moment into consideration. But it is from there that we must question ourselves. In fact, we judge constantly and sometimes unintentionally. Our judgments are not necessarily hurtful. But most of the time, we are off the mark. So, you must know to limit the judgment in the first place. I act with hypotheses because I actually don't know. And a good leader likes to learn and discover. So, you are not always right".
Baptiste: "A good leader must take care of his crew. - I was employed in a huge company that was family owned and then it was bought and bought again. I let you imagine the change. The company I worked for was related to the construction business. For each sector, there were managers and a team present to answer the customers. The managers were in charge of the ship. Unfortunately, I was in the same boat, but I wasn't pulling at the same rope.
This manager in particular never valued our team. Most of the employees were afraid of him. And one day, I had made a mistake while preparing an order for a huge construction site. At that time, I was not doing well and between you and me, I have the right to be not well. As soon as he heard about this mistake, he called me and told me to come to his office. This unconstructive speech led me to make more mistakes and the relationship was not optimal.
In my previous job, the directive was that I had to bring intention to the various problems of the beneficiaries. Unfortunately, I did not fulfill this directive correctly. I carried the intention and I focused on the solutions, and on the beneficiaries. What I mean is that I was interested in their environment, their passion, their desire while respecting the framework of the company in which I worked. And I assure you that change comes at this point. You must be interested in the person and in turn, they will be interested in you. Communication is the key. Be empathetic. Take an interest in the environment you are in".
Baptiste: "A good leader creates other leaders. - I know there are people who would refuse to take on the role of a leader. Let me bring you another perspective. A leader does not simply mean to manage and lead a team towards one or more desired goals, but also to manage himself.
Things come up and they go away. It is ephemeral. It is just an instant. For the sake of your conscience, you must always look ahead. You must leave more than your own identity in your organization in which you find yourself, but your legacy. Act perpetually. You understand that you are only competing with yourself. You can differentiate between good and bad. Your crew will do exactly what you show them. Therefore, you create other leaders.
