Apple Shazam Brings 'ShazamKit' for Third-Party Apps to Recognize Beats, Hums—Coming to Android

Apple's Shazam is getting an update, and it will bring "ShazamKit," which will bring audio recognition features of the application to third-party applications, even outside Apple. Apart from this massive news from the Cupertino giant, Shazam is also said to be coming to the Android platform, rivaling those that have been there to fill in its absence.

Indeed it is extremely annoying to get a tune, beat, or any lyrics stuck on one's head, and not knowing the title to it. It is more annoying when that same audio plays during the most unlikely times like before going to sleep, during eating, or when enjoying a movie planned months.

But, Apple did a good job in filling the gap of helping the said, unknown music to be discovered by just humming the tune within Shazam's application. And while Apple did not exactly make Shazam, its acquisition that was finalized in 2018 has helped the app gain a larger platform, and be integrated within Apple apps.

The app ensured that there would be no more "LSS" or last song syndrome in the modern ages, and truly, what a time to be alive.

In the recent development of Shazam, it has been integrated with Apple Music, and it has helped in identifying songs for users that had beats stuck in their minds for a long time. And while the sing to Shazam setup is a big plus for those with LSS, it would not have to be that way forever as the company introduces "ShazamKit."

According to Apple's developer website, ShazamKit will bring support for the audio recognition's integration within third-party apps, so that users would not have to hum the beat every time. Moreover, this will be a more accurate audio recognition setup, as tunes get mixed up and present a different beat based on the user's interpretation and version.

The ShazamKit was introduced on a recent Day 2 of the five-day-long Apple Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC) which have started its festivities last Monday, June 7. And if that is not a surprise enough, Apple has added an extra treat to Shazam's integration across other platforms.

And by other platforms, it means Android, and yes, Apple is again branching out another application for Google's Android OS, extending the availability of Shazam even for non-iOS users.

Apple has been extending its applications to those using Android including FaceTime, Find My, and other apps. Not to mention Apple Music on Android getting the recently released Spatial Audio features.

Shazam's iOS exclusivity has caused a lot of other applications to be the top preferences for Android, but that would soon change with the latest developments made by Apple.
