Tesla Model S Plaid Reaches Quarter-Mile in 9.2 Secs at 152 Mph: Here's Why This New World Record is Big Deal

Telsa Model S Plaid made another shocking record after reaching a quarter-mile in just 9.2 seconds. Elon Musk recently claimed that it is the world's fastest production EV to be released in the market.

This is comparable to the ultra-fast racing cars in the market. However, you need to remember that this is a big deal since Tesla Model S Plaid is not a racing vehicle. This new EV model is specifically designed for family use and regular road trips.

On the other hand, some critics and other experts said that another expensive car, Rimac Nevera, still has a faster record since it was able to achieve quarter-mile range in just 8.6 seconds. The difference is pretty large if you look into it.

But, Rimac Nevera is a 2-seater car compared to the Tesla Model S Plaid, a 7-seater electric vehicle. This means that Elon Musk's new EV model is still heavier compared to the competitor.

Because of this, it will still remain a question if Tesla Model S Plaid can surpass Rimac Nevera's speed if Elon Musk decides to make it a 2-seater car.

Tesla Model S Plaid's Shipment Date

If you are one of the people who pre-ordered the new Tesla Model S Plaid, Business Insider reported that this new car could arrive this coming June 10.

However, this is still subject to change depending on the EV manufacturer's issues. Right now, all you need to do is sit and wait for Elon Musk's actual announcements.
