Samsung is preparing its lineup of Neo devices, and they are just right around the corner. The new devices are called the Galaxy Grand Neo, the Galaxy Tab 3 Neo, and the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, but don't expect them to be a powerhouse over their predecessors.
According to an image leaked by SamMobile, the Galaxy Note 3 Neo is smaller than the Galaxy Note 3, but apart from that, both devices look similar in design.
Consumers should consider the Galaxy Note 3 Neo as the lite version due to its size and rumored specifications. From the picture, it is believed that the Galaxy Note Neo has a 5.55-inch display, which is similar to that of the Galaxy Note 2. In comparison, the Galaxy Note has a 5.7-inch display. The Galaxy Note 3 Neo is expected to come with a 1.3 GHz quad core + 1.7 GHz dual core, along with 2GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel camera. This is below the 1.9GHz CPU found in the Galaxy Note 3, proving that it is the less capable device.
After another close inspection of the specs, we've come to the conclusion that if it wasn't for the bump up to USB 3.0 support, a new processor and Android 4.3, then the Galaxy Note 3 Neo would have the very same specifications when compared to the Galaxy Note 2 that was released back in 2012. The biggest different in our eyes though is the design of the case, which is similar to the Note 3 with its sharp corners and what appears to be a faux stitched leather back.
Samsung seems to be aiming the Galaxy Note 3 Neo to be the affordable version of the Galaxy Note 3. We find this odd since the Galaxy Mega was designed to be Samsung's low cost option for customers who want, but cannot afford a Galaxy Note 3. However, Samsung might be aiming for a different market with the Galaxy Note 3 Neo, so that it does not compete with the Galaxy Mega.
