WWDC has been a mainstay event in Apple which is mostly a showcase for Apple products and giving different developers the chance to partake among the company's software and other technology. The conference is also considered as a place to learn more about the technological landscape of the country and world, through Apple.

Last year's WWDC took place later in June 2020 (June 22), and this gave people an insider look at the future of Apple devices including that of the iOS 14 for the iPhone, and the macOS 11 which is known as "Big Sur." However, that was not the largest news last WWDC, rather it was the initial rumor of the Apple Silicon for MacBooks, now known as the M1.
