Ticketed Spaces could be Twitter's step forward to monetization. It only takes a matter of time before the Clubhouse-like features and services try to take things to the next level by monetizing the popular audio-only social media hype. While Clubhouse itself actually seems to still be trying out with a possible payment system, Twitter is now pushing forward with what could be called the Ticketed Spaces.
Ticketed Spaces by Twitter
According to the story by SlashGear, Ticketed Spaces turned the nascent Twitter feature into something that works like a concert or even a VIP meet and greet where certain users would need to pay tickets in order to get in. Although this could be quite enticing for certain hosts, what they would receive, on the other hand, is not that encouraging.
Twitter noted that it will only take 20% of the total ticket sales for itself leaving the host with the rest. That, however, only applies after Google or Apple has already decided to take their own cuts. This means that 30% off the total then just 80% off what remains will be what's left for the user.
This means that if there is a $10 ticket, hosts will only be getting $5.6 once everything is deducted. The payment system is expected to be handled by Stripe and Twitter even mentioned to The Verge that it will then foot the bill for Stripe's own transaction fees.
Twitter Spaces 'Super Follows'
Those who will be hosting certain events, however, will need to have their own Stripe accounts as well. During the whole testing period, only users within the United States will be able to host certain paid events while anyone around the world will be paying for a ticket in order for them to join.
This is the latest in what really seems to be the platform's rapid iteration of different features for Twitter Spaces, which actually launched a number of weeks ago. It had already added the ability to schedule certain events and also looked into adding the new co-hosted Twitter Spaces as well.
This, in turn, is also just the latest in Twitter's new attempts to try to monetize the network beyond just the normal ads. Part of the upcoming plans also include "Super Follows" which works closely to what Patreon or OnlyFans already do.

Super Follow Exclusive Access
Basically, the new Super Follows will allow subscribers to pay in order to gain access to exclusive content. The most interesting thing, however, will be the new upcoming Twitter Blue along with some other things which would then let people undo tweets.
The feature is different from the current tweet editing feature that users have already been clamoring for for a few years already. However, it seems that Twitter will now want to make its users pay in order to get the additional features.
