For many fans, playing World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade was one of their fondest memories when released in 2007. And now, it's coming back to WoW pretty soon.
After numerous leaks pointing to its imminent launch, World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic is now finally confirmed to release on June 1, reports SlashGear. Many leaks have already teased the date, so this news is more or less a confirmation rather than a surprise.
The expansion is a faithful recreation of the original one in '07, which brought players into a place known as the Outland via the Dark Portal. There, they will fight hordes of enemies from the Burning Legion. But before all that action, players will have to download and install the game's pre-expansion patch on May 18 first, as reported by Windows Central.
What Can Players Expect?
If Blizzard doesn't do something weird like removing time purchasing options without prior notice, then fans will be in for a treat for this upcoming World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade remake.
PCGamer reports that, unlike the first time it launched, WoW Burning Crusade Classic will give players many options to prepare and tailor their own experiences. For instance, the rollout of the pre-expansion patch is sure to give fans more time to get themselves ready for the game. By then, they must choose whether they want to continue playing the expansion or transfer to new servers. These servers will feature a level 60 cap as always and remain locked in the Classic vanilla era.
Here's another option for those who want to experience both, however. There's a so-called optional cloning service being offered on May 18 for $35 a character, which will enable anyone to keep playing on the Classic Era realm with a copy of an existing character of theirs. On the one hand, this also allows entry into Burning Crusade Classic, as reported by GFinityESports.
Blizzard is also introducing a handful of level boosts available for purchase with real-world money (since World of Warcraft is free-to-play, they can get away with this, not like Electronic Arts and their scummy loot boxes). Among the boosts is the Dark Portal Pass, which will boost any single under-leveled character to level 58 for $39.99. But if you plan to use the pass on any Draenei or Blood Elf character (which are two new playable races), you're out of luck.
World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic offers a good amount of new content that won't be accessible in the Classic Era. Aside from the brand-new era of Outland, there is also a PvP mode at the Arena Gates where 2v2, 3v3, or even 5v5 battles will test anyone's mettle option to acquire flying mounts in Outland.
That should be enough for a couple hundred hours' more worth of playtime, right?
