Apple's tiny AirTags currently feature a standard replaceable CR2032 coin-cell battery. The tech giant manufacturer said that it uses this battery model since it can power an AirTag for the entire year, which is just like in most wristwatches.

Apple users can remove their AirTag's battery by simply twisting and pushing down this tiny device's back plate, but experts claimed that this action is a straightforward and easy process.

To give you more idea, here's why various experts and analysts are concerned about Apple AirTag's removable battery.

Because of this, the major Australian retailer Officeworks temporarily removed AirTags from its shelves. Although this is the case, the giant retailer hasn't confirmed the exact reason why it removed the Apple item from its offered products.

"Staff at the counter could see on their system that they had some in stock, and one staff member even remembered selling them on Friday, but they couldn't find them today," said an anonymous Reddit user, who claimed he works for Australian retailer, via Gizmodo's latest report.

"They went onto say that an Officeworks representative told them that the ‌AirTags‌ were removed due to safety concerns," he added.

On the other hand, he also claimed that Officeworks has removed them specifically because of Apple gadget's easy battery removal process.

What Does What Apple Says About the Current Issue?

An Apple representative said that AirTags are designed to meet international child safety standards. These include those in Australia by requiring a two-step push-and-turn mechanism to access the user-replaceable battery.

The tech giant representative also confirmed that the company is following the regulations closely. He added that they are also working to ensure that their new devices will meet the new standards of various countries.
