Asymmetric Zombie Game 'A Way To Be Dead' Soon to Begin Closed Beta Phase, Register Now!

Taking the next step towards its commercial release, Crania Games' zombie multiplayer "A Way to be Dead" is set to begin its closed beta phase soon.

Interested fans can find the closed beta application link on its Steam Page, which will redirect players to a Google Form. The questionnaire includes links to the "A Way To Be Dead" Discord Server and its Steam Page. Interested closed beta testers are asked for their email address, Steam ID, the number of hours in a day they could devote to test-playing the game, as well as other similar titles that they play - team-based multiplayer asymmetrical survival games like Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th.

Closed Beta Testing for "A Way to be Dead"

Crania Games noted in its website announcement that only a "limited amount of applications will be accepted." While there is no set deadline, the developers noted that the search for closed beta testers will continue while slots last.

Chosen players would receive a notification via email, together with a Steam key for immediate access to play "A Way to be Dead." As closed beta testers, chosen participants are expected to test the gameplay mechanics as well as the overall experience - audio, video, gameplay controls, features, and interactions as a multiplayer game. Their feedback - which will help Crania Games fix bugs and improve the game before its release - will be sent by the testers through a response form as well as in the game's official Discord server.

About the Newest Zombie Multiplayer Game

A Way to be Dead is an asymmetrical multiplayer - i.e. having an unequal player on each side - which, in this case, is four players against one (4 vs 1). In the game, players can choose to be zombies, the survivors, or the deranged Dr. Riley.

As Dr. Riley hunts the survivors in a zombie-infested hospital, the four of them must find a way - often by working together - to survive both the murderous doctor and the undead that roams the halls of the building. Should survivors die, they continue playing as zombies - increasing the pressure and difficulty for the remaining players.

Dr. Riley, the doctor hunting the survivors, has been confirmed to be the same character as the protagonist from the 2017 survival game "Roots of Insanity," also by Crania Games. In the 2017 game, Dr. Riley struggles to survive in the hospital while keeping his sanity, suffering from intermittent attacks of epilepsy while fighting off the zombie threats. If A Way to be Dead is actually a sequel to Roots of Insanity, we now know what happened to Dr. Riley McClein.

Also, in "A Way To Be Dead," players can also improve their characters through the game's "Trauma" points earned by winning game sessions. On the other hand, survivors have to deal with another set of challenges aside from Dr. Riley and the zombies - the environment. Interacting with objects in your surrounding could give away your position, a blessing for the one playing Dr. Riley and a curse for the survivors.
