Samsung's April Unpacked 2021 Introduces Galaxy Book Pro and Pro 360

Samsung unveils the latest Galaxy Book Pro series during the company's April Unpacked event and promises to bring some of the latest technology used on smartphones to their two new laptops, the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360.

As the product of Samsung's collaboration with Intel and Microsoft, the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 were designed to incorporate the smartphone's portability while improving its overall performance.

"The new Galaxy Book Pro series offers true mobile computing for the connected world, enabling ultra-light, yet mighty portability, boundless connectivity, and a window into your wider Galaxy ecosystem," said Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics.

Galaxy Book Pro Series Boasts to Bear the Power of Smartphones

During Samsung's April Unpacked event on Apr. 28, Roh said that the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 were designed with mobility, connectivity, and continuity in mind.

The Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 feature an ultra-lightweight design, with the 13-inch Galaxy Book Pro weighing only 1.92 lbs and the 15-inch model weighing 2.31 lbs.

Meanwhile, the 13-inch Galaxy Book Pro weighs 2.29 lbs and the 15-inch weighs 3.06 lbs.

Both models are powered by Intel's 11th generation processors and can deliver up to 20 hours of battery life.

According to Samsung's support page, the Galaxy Book Pro could come with either Intel's 2.40GHz i5-1135G7 that can be overclocked to 4.20GHz, or the 2.80GHz i7-1165G7 that can be boosted up to 4.70GHz, with the latter offered with the Galaxy Book Pro 360 as well.

As for the battery life, Samsung boasts the Galaxy Book Pro Series' promises to be able to charge both models to have eight hours of battery life for 30 minutes with its 65W fast charging.

The mobility promised by the Galaxy Book Pro series is completed by incorporating LTE and 5G support, as well as its readiness to WiFi 6E.

Galaxy Book Pro Series Confirmed Leaks, Price, and Release Date

The release of the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro Series confirmed prior leaks that it would come with OLED screens and S Pen support.

To be more specific, the Galaxy Book Pro would come with an Advanced AMOLED screen while the Pro 360 will have a Super AMOLED touchscreen, and both features an Intelligent Color Engine for the immersive entertainment experience.

The Galaxy Book Pro 360, as the name suggests, would come with a convertible 2-in-1 design and an S pen.

However, CNet noticed that despite the powerful specs the Galaxy Book Pro and Galaxy Book Pro 360 bring, both models still have only 720p webcams.

The price for the Galaxy Book Pro Series would start at $999, just like its predecessor, and would be available starting May 17.
