ACER, as of the moment, is perhaps best known for its high quality monitors and laptops. As of the moment, the company is now looking to spread its influence into one of the most important realms of today, the consumer-grade PC storage products. ACER is finally going to be selling its own SSD and RAM with the help of a Chinese company.
ACER SSD and RAM
According to the story by TechSpot, ACER will reportedly be partnering with a certain Chinese flash storage maker known as Biwin. With this partnership, ACER will finally be able to sell its own branded SSD and RAM cards towards different consumers both in the US as well as in China.
It is important to clarify that ACER will not be the one to produce the upcoming devices. The tech firm's official announcement post actually suggests that it is going to be a joint effort of sorts. The article by TechSpot, however, clarifies that in reality, Biwin will reportedly be the one to handle all of the manufacturing.
ACER and Biwin
ACER's known contribution now seems to solely involve some product branding and even sales. TechSpot notes that it will still be reaching out to the company in order to clarify its specific role in this particular partnership.
As previously noted, Biwin will reportedly produce both the RAM sticks as well as the SSDs which will then be offered in quite a wide range of different sizes, form factors, and even capacity options towards consumers. The article by TechSpot also provides the different expected SSDs.
