Tesla, however, was still able to land another award but not as the general "best EV." Tesla still got an award for the best luxury EV title. The Chevy Bolt, however, won the overall best electric car award that is based on the US News' price, overall car rankings, charging time, and also its range. The base vehicle is capable of going 259 miles of range and costs just $36,500.

According to the story by Mashable, a dead Chevy Bolt EV would need 9.5 hours in order for the electric car to fully recharge. A Level 2 plug type is also needed which can oftentimes be found at almost every public charging station. Tesla, on the other hand, takes just 8 hours to charge on the same type of charger.
