US Awaits CDC Epidemiological Assessments on COVID-19 Before Allowing Travel Abroad

The United States is still looking to ban international travels outside the country to reduce the risk of people transmitting and carrying the coronavirus amidst this period where vaccinations are carried over the country. COVID-19 vaccines have been distributed to the country at a regular stream now, and are available to regular citizens after registering to their local clinics.

The country's travel authorities have been analyzing the different repercussions and effects which it would contribute once it allows international travel, and experts have deemed it as something not yet advisable. The US may have a regular stream of vaccination, along with other top countries that have already allowed the non-use of masks, but not all are included.

US to Wait on CDC Epidemiological Assessments on Vaccine

It may be that these could contribute to harm for the person traveling, along with the increased chances of bringing viruses from other countries and bring a new strain or diseases that could further the pandemic. The Department of State is basing its data on the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) advisory and assessments.

Recently, the age for vaccine eligibility has lowered to be administered to 16-year-olds from its previous ruling that only 18-year-old citizens and above are to receive the vaccine. The effort that was targeted to begin by May 1 was moved to last Monday, Apr. 19, which was a massive step for the country to distribute immunity against the pandemic virus.

CDC has been frequent in releasing epidemiological assessments regarding the current global pandemic, especially on how it affects people and the patterns it shows. The most recent assessment made by the authorities was the data of the vaccine effectivity which has shown a massive 99.992 percent rating to protect against COVID-19.

According to the United States' travel authorities, the country would soon issue the so-called "Level 4: Do Not Travel" advisories to eighty (80) percent of foreign nations, despite the opening up for tourism and leisure. The advisory still deems it to be risky and dangerous for people to go to other countries, especially as the virus develops new strains and other problems.

The country is still looking at the safety and health concerns of its citizens against the virus, which is why it awaits the full report that the CDC would release, as it assesses the stature of the US in this crisis.
