Facebook Clubhouse Competitor Could Introduce 'Messenger Rooms' Next Week

Clubhouse is a unique and new kind of social media that has been gaining popularity over the past couple of months with massively popular individuals like Elon Musk on the platform. A lot of big apps are now trying to compete with this platform by offering their own version of the Clubhouse format which focuses on audio.

Clubhouse Competition App

Twitter and Telegram are two other popular apps that have been trying to adapt to the Clubhouse format and now Facebook is getting ready to announce their version of Clubhouse. The audio-only broadcast train along with its unique twists and features is getting even more popular with different apps trying to adapt.

As of the moment, there is probably no other social media company that seems to be intently trying to surpass Clubhouse like Facebook, according to the story by Slashgear, and this social media giant is expected to announce surprising news to its users. The social media giant is now all set to announce not technically a single Clubhouse competitor but instead a whole handful of different features that would focus on audio.

Facebook Clubhouse Version

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly been falling head over heels with the new Clubhouse app, or at least the core concept of Clubhouse. He even directed the company's very own NPE or New Product Experimentation group to try and come up with a number of apps and services that could beat Clubhouse's massive growth rate.

Quite surprisingly, Facebook still hasn't really come up with a direct 1:1 Clubhouse competitor but is instead expected to launch a whole suite of features and different services all under a new "Social Audio" banner. Vox recently reports that Facebook currently has no less than four solid audio projects set to announce this Monday. One of them is a simple extension to its popular Messenger Rooms which would give users another audio-option to the popular video conferencing service that had launched just last year.

New Facebook Features

There could also be an addition of a new product or feature that would allow Facebook users to simply record and also post brief voice messages just like what Twitter currently has. Beyond the current extensions to the existing services, Facebook is now also expected to announce a new product that kind of resembles Clubhouse. This new feature would allow users to simply listen and interact with the speaker in a certain audio-only type of stage.

This new feature already sounds quite close to the popular "Hotline" service that Facebook NPE started testing just last week. There are also some reported rumors regarding a partnership between Facebook and Spotify that could revolve around new podcast discovery which is a new venture that the massive audio streaming giant has just recently jumped into. The report also notes that while Facebook might announce the new products as early as tomorrow, the date of their exact availability is still in question.
