Great Specs For The Price
The Dell Inspiron 14 5402, while not crazy powerful, is still a pretty good laptop in terms of specs. For one, you get the Intel Core i7 1165G7 processor, which features 4 cores and 8 threads with a max boost clock of 4.7 GHz, according to Intel's Ark website. That's more than enough for your basic work tasks, and capable enough to even help with heavier work like video or photo editing.
As for the graphics, you're not getting a discreet AMD or NVIDIA graphics card so don't expect this laptop to play games beyond easy-to-run eSports titles like League of Legends. But that Intel Iris XE integrated graphics is capable of outputting full HD 1080p video, which is the native resolution that the screen runs out, according to Dell.
Lastly, you'll get a super-fast 512 GB M.2 NVMe SSD, which means that booting up to Windows and loading up your programs will be extremely snappy, coupled with 16 GB of DDR4 memory at a speed of 3200 MHz. These are very solid specs all throughout for the price. Again, remember that this is not a gaming laptop like Dell's G15. It's not as powerful as one, but its power is better suited for more productive purposes.

Making Way For Tiger Lake H
All the old Dell Inspiron 14 5402 laptops on clearance will be replaced with models featuring Intel's upcoming "Tiger Lake H" processors. Whereas the old ones only have 4 cores and 8 threads, the new models will have 8 cores and 16 threads which match Intel's current-generation 11th gen desktop chips in core and thread count, reports ExtremeTech.
Among the CPUs installed in the upcoming Dell Inspiron refresh will be the Core i7 11800H, which is an 8 core, 16 thread part with a base clock of 2.3 GHz and a boost clock of 4.6 GHz, according to Videocardz.com.
And it's pretty powerful if the Geekbench scores are to be believed: 1537 on single score and 8393 on multi-core. Compared to the desktop Core i7 11700K, which is one of Intel's higher-end CPUs for this generation, the score is just around 300 points less on single core (1807) and over 2,000 points behind in multi-core (2280). That's really not bad.
So go over to Dell's website right now if you're looking for a laptop with good specs for the price, considering that other laptops of the Dell Inspiron 14 5402's caliber can be quite expensive, like Adata XPG's Xenia Xe, which retails over USD $1500.
