Bayonetta 3 is definitely one of the most-anticipated games to make its way to the Nintendo Switch. Although it was first announced a couple of years back, this new PlatinumGames-developed title still hasn't released any information regarding its development timeline or other updates.

Bayonetta 3 News

Although pretty anticipated, there are also a lot of other similarly highly anticipated games to come to the Nintendo Switch like Metroid Prime 4 as well as an upcoming sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild which both have little to no information as of the moment. Until the official update is revealed, here is everything that users know about the upcoming Bayonetta 3.

The official reveal trailer for the Bayonetta 3 was actually first shared back during the Game Awards 2017. Although it's a pretty short video, the teaser shows Bayonetta herself fighting something and even possibly losing. The teaser also shows off the game logo and the confirmation that it's being developed by Platinum Games directly for the Nintendo Switch.

Bayonetta 3 Release Date History

The previous Bayonetta games have definitely been somewhat of an action-filled hack-and-slash games where players can go to war as a titular witch that makes the most out of her unique and stylish gunplay in order to defeat massive hordes of angels and demons.

The utilization of magic is also something that players loved about this game where unique weapons and the Torture Attacks make for a meaner gameplay. Bayonetta actually has quite an interesting history as it first appeared on the Xbox 360 as well as PlayStation 3 which was developed by PlatinumGames but was still published by Sega.

The publisher then decided to not actually pursue a sequel which meant that Bayonetta 2 was only possible due to Nintendo stepping in to publish the game through providing the additional funding. In exchange, Bayonetta 2 then became exclusive to the Wii U. Both the Bayonetta as well as the Bayonetta 2 were then ported later on to the Nintendo Switch.

According to the story by TechRadar, as a result, Bayonetta 3, moving forward, will become an exclusive to the Nintendo Switch since once again, Nintendo has decided to step in to publish the game in exchange for exclusivity. The official Bayonetta 3 release date is still unknown as of the moment. It is also unknown if there will also be an upcoming Bayonetta 3 PC version.

As of the moment, there is not enough information to tell if there is going to be a windows version later on. PlatinumGames director Hideki Kamiya in his meeting with VGC noted that fans should really "reset and forget" until the upcoming game is shown off again. Gamers are now expected to just wait and see when the upcoming Nintendo Switch Bayonetta 3 will come out and if it will be supported in the long-rumored Nintendo Switch Pro.
