Apple has debuted the latest beta version number 6 of the long-awaited iOS 14.5, and it brought a list of nifty new features that would be very beneficial to its users once it releases. The iOS 14.5 has been long-awaited by iPhone users and enthusiasts, especially after the company released a steady stream of new versions of the operating system in the past (iOS 14.1 to 14.4). However, instead of the expected arrival of iOS 14.5 for early or mid-February, it did not show up or became available for users.

It has been almost two months since the initial announcement of the iOS 14.5 and the only way to acquire the latest operating system is by applying for its public beta user program which is an additional process. Currently, there are no announcements or hints as to when iOS 14.5 becomes available for the public, which is now on its sixth beta.

iOS 14.5: Battery Recalibration

One of the major upgrades that would soon come for the public release version (and currently in beta 6) for iOS 14.5 is the bug fix for the iPhone and iPad's Battery Health that faced several issues. According to Apple's support document, there were several reports from users regarding faulty battery percentage and health, which pushed the Cupertino giant to look into it.

The company discovered that a bug within its systems led iPhones to an unexpected drain and plagued the battery health settings of the device, causing a drastic change in its peak performance and capacity. Apple noted that despite Battery Health saying that it already needs servicing, most cases only resulted from bugs and the actual power cell is still healthy.

The company notes that it would be accessible via the Settings > Battery > Battery Health once the device is already updated with the latest version of iOS 14.5. Moreover, Apple noted that it would take a few weeks to recalibrate the battery and its status would be available via the Battery Health settings, with the phone available for use.

iOS 14.5 Siri Voice Change

On Wednesday, March 31, Tech Times reported that the default and iconic female AI voice of Siri will be changed for other languages and voice tones of the assistant. According to Tech Crunch, these settings were first seen by the iOS 14.5 beta 6 users which is also coming to the final public version of the operating system.

According to an Apple statement, Siri changing its voice is the company's commitment to diversity and inclusion, which brings new language accents from American, Australia, British, Indian, Irish, and South African. Additionally, the four new voices are composed of different genders and people, which completely moves away from the robotic and AI-sounding voice of Siri.
