Sony finally unveiled its PlayStation 5 VR controller. If you are one of the curious fans, here's the game hardware's first look.
According to Business Insider's latest report, the game console developer will have a new style of the gamepad for its popular PS5. The company unveiled its upcoming product on Thursday, Mar. 18.
Sony confirmed that its unnamed new controller is specifically intended for use with the upcoming PlayStation 5 VR headset, which is expected to be the new and updated version of the previous PS4 VR headset.
On the other hand, the giant manufacturer also said that the new VR controller would also use haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. These features are capable of pushing back on the user's inputs, which is just like how the current DualSense controller works.
"Each VR controller (Left and Right) includes an adaptive trigger button that adds palpable tension when pressed, similar to what's found in the DualSense controller," said Hideaki Nishino, Sony's PlayStation Platform Planning and Management senior VP, via Business Insider.
"If you've played a PS5 game, you'll be familiar with the tension in the L2 or R2 buttons when you press them, such as when you're drawing your bow to fire an arrow," he added.
What the new PS5 VR controllers look like
Unlike the current VR controllers, the new PS5 VR controllers encircle the user's hands. They split up the button layout and analog stick configuration that PS5 players are familiar with.

Moreover, each of them has two face buttons, one trigger, and one analog stick. Sony also used a new design that replaced the shoulder button with a grip button. Nishino also explained that the grip button could be used to pick up in-game objects.
PS5 VR controller's other features
PlayStation Blog confirmed various features of the upcoming PS5 VR controllers. To give you more idea, here are some of their capabilities that you should know;
Tracking
The VR controller is tracked by the new VR headset through a tracking ring across the controller's bottom.
Finger touch detection
The controller can detect your fingers without pressing in the areas where you place your thumb, index, or middle fingers. This enables you to make more natural gestures with your hands during gameplay.
Haptic feedback
The new controller will have haptic feedback optimized for its form factor, making every sensation in the game world more impactful, textured, and nuanced.
