Most American's watching The Interview likely didn't give the portrayal of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un much thought. While he doesn't come across as a complete psycho in the movie, he definitely isn't a sympathetic character and is eventually killed at the end in an explosion.
But what if glorious leader Kim Jong Un directed The Interview instead? Finally he could show the world the truth about North Korea, dispelling all the "myths" and nasty "lies" much of the world has come to believe. And of course, Kim Jong Un would be the sympathetic hero of the tale, as he brings glory to North Korea and thwarts an assassination attempt on his life. That is basically what we have here, in this brilliantly recut trailer for The Interview from MrStratman7 on YouTube. Watch and be amazed.
It's amazing how a few scenes, rearranged and presented in a new light and with new music, can completely change the entire tone of a trailer. In this version of The Interview, Kim Jong Un is the star. It feels like a completely different movie as a result. Instead of a raunchy comedy from Seth Rogen, it looks like a tragic bio-pic about a misunderstood king a world away, struggling to lead his people and stay strong against the economic sanctions levied against North Korea by the United States.
Maybe North Korea should hire MrStratman7 to work on its propaganda films? It wouldn't be the first time North Korea has tried to change its image with the power of cinema. As long as MrStartman went willingly I'm sure everything would work out fine. If not, well, North Korea has a reputation of taking what they want by force.
