"CoD: Warzone" might finally say goodbye to its popular Verdansk map. Rumors claimed that the upcoming Nuke Event will be the reason why the place will be deleted from the famous shooting game.
According to GameSpot's latest report, "Call of Duty: Warzone" could have a catastrophic event that will change the entire game overnight. Some reliable leakers said that the upcoming Nuke Event was named after the nuclear warhead, which was found in Bunker 11 back in 2020.
The game's new event is expected to destroy the famous Verdansk map completely. Speculations also claimed that it will happen on Mar. 11, which is connected to the game's one-year anniversary.
Although it might be bad news for some players, the removal of the Verdansk map will give way for new maps in the game.
However, it is still important to remember that this info is still a speculation, and the final decision will be announced by Activision, the game's developer.
What will happen after the Nuke Event?
On Feb. 25, VGC reported that Activision will finally delete Verdansk before the current season ends. Once this popular map is removed, the battle royale game will transition to its second 1980s-themed iteration, which will bring new locations around the "Black Ops" series.

The upcoming event will transition the shooting game from the "Modern Warfare" era to a setting more in line with the most recent premium series release. Some rumors also claimed that the Verdansk map will be removed once the game's Season 3 arrives on Apr. 22.
On the other hand, some rumors stated that "Call of Duty: Warzone" is unlikely to have any revamp until at least 2022.
Will it really happen?
Aside from "Call of Duty: Warzone," there are also other shooting games that use surprising events to refresh their maps or locations.
Epic Games' "Fortnite" is also well-known for utilizing terrain-changing disasters. These include meteor strikes, tsunamis, and more. This method allows different game publishers to change their game content while entertaining their players.
"Call of Duty: Warzone" also has a high chance to follow this trend. Although this is the case, the rumored Mar. 11 Nuke Event might still not happen. The deletion of the Verdansk map will still depend on Activision. Meanwhile, some leakers, such as ZestyCODLEaks, posted a six-minute video clip with dialogue lines that are rumored to be added on the upcoming Nuke Event.
