After Microsoft's successful acquisition of Zenimax Media, Bethesda's parent company, a briefing will reportedly happen on Mar.11 through a video presentation. Details about the discussion are yet to be revealed, but it could tackle more about its transition as an Xbox studio.
Microsoft's Upcoming Bethesda Briefing on Thursday
VentureBeat reported that an unknown source who knows Microsoft's plans said that the Redmond giant will hold a video presentation on Thursday, Mar. 11, to answer the questions about its involvement in the Xbox community.
However, the gaming site stated that it is unlikely for the tech titan to dive immediately to Bethesda's next projects. "Starfield," the upcoming sci-fi role-playing game, is expected to be launched in the summer, and this could be one of the contents of the discussion.
Furthermore, Xbox and Microsoft might not consider the said game in the presentation as the two could instead focus on the Xbox Game Pass subscription to the public.
Most likely, questions about the recent acquisition can be opened in the presentation. In this case, fans are probably wondering if the future projects of ZeniMax and Bethesda will be incorporated as exclusives for Xbox. Moreover, what Microsoft could possibly do from the buyout is still out of the line.
How Can Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass Subscription be Advertised?
Expectations about the release of the games made by ZeniMax and Bethesda are already spreading across the gaming community. They could be released on the same day as the exclusive subscription pass for the Xbox console and will be ready to play on the first day.
In this way, this immediately becomes an immediate upfront saving for the consumers, so it will appear as good as advertised. This will also avoid the $70 cost for each game.
According to a report by Eurogamer, it's possible that there could be some space created between the companies, which is different from ZeniMax's acquisitions like Undead Labs and DoubleFine.
Besides, it is also said that Bethesda plans to conduct its public announcement this 2021 around E3. This further opposed the fact of just being acquired by Xbox as its property.
Last 2020, Tim Stuart, the chief financial officer of Xbox, made an offer to devise the best option about Bethesda and ZeniMax's post-acquisition. According to Stuart, the team wanted what's in it for them, in the long run, to figure out what way is the best for the platform experience for the users.
Stuart also said that they will learn more about it this week. All fans could do is wait in the corner about the possible update regarding the Xbox subscription and other related topics that could be discussed.
VentureBeat, meanwhile, said that Microsoft could likely give an update after a day or two. This could be the much-awaited opportunity for the Xbox fans to know if their favorite console will receive the highly-desired upgrades in the future. It is also high time to make this platform a more competitive one to reach more customers across the globe.
