Spotify is stepping up into the big leagues and it would soon be streaming with lossless, "CD Quality" music that would be a treat for all Audiophiles who prefer the highest quality of music listening experience. This feature was initially introduced by TIDAL in 2015 and brought the listening experience to the next level.
According to different forums and testimonies, FLAC is a lossless format that extracts the entire music from its album version, thereby having a massive size of almost 25 MB (more or less) per file. On the other hand, MP3 is a lossy audio format that loses several elements of the music upon extraction but keeps the main elements intact to get the same music.
On regular "gears" (headphones, earphones, IEMs, Music Players, DAPs. etc.), people would not be able to distinguish FLAC from MP3 320 kbps, but when using the right ones, it could reveal it to a trained ear. Spotify's effort to extend its music experience for FLAC lossless and HiFi would surely give Audiophiles a new platform to stream.
