Microsoft is currently having technical difficulties when it comes to the latest iteration of its popular Xbox Wireless Controllers that had previously launched alongside the next-gen Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles. Some time earlier this year, a number of gamers have been sending their complaints regarding the controllers losing their connections.
Why is my wireless Xbox controller not working?
According to an article by SlashGear, the number of these gamers that have sent their complaints have significantly increased enough for the company itself to look into the matter and notice the problem. As of this time, it's still random unresponsive buttons are reportedly creating a clamour among the new Xbox controller-using gamers.
The good news for Xbox gamers is that Microsoft has now promised an upcoming fix for the wireless controllers. However, the bad news is that no one knows when, except the Microsoft team behind the upcoming fix.
Why won't my Xbox controller connect to my Xbox?
The exact reason behind the Xbox Wireless controller problem still remains unknown. However, the article by SlashGear notes that it might or might not be related to some earlier reports noting that the controller would suddenly lose its connection even in the middle of the game. A number of users did report that the said controller would also become unresponsive but have since then seen it go under the radar up until now.
According to an increasing number of complaints, the Xbox Wireless Controller would also sometimes fail to register a certain button, or sometimes the whole controller would suddenly completely die on the spot. The latter, however, would even go to a certain point forcing a restart of the Xbox in order to be able to get things working once again.

Why does my wireless Xbox One controller keep disconnecting?
Instead of being confined towards just the consoles, however, the whole problem has also reportedly been existing even with PCs, cementing the whole suspicion that the given problem is actually with the controller by itself.
Microsoft gave a statement to PC Gamer noting that the company is well aware of the given and irritating situation for gamers and is now working towards providing a fix. However, Microsoft did not provide a timeline for this but proceeded to advise customers to directly visit the Xbox Support to ask for help.
This, however, would then leave the strong question as to whether or not this is just a small and simple software problem that can easily be fixed with a simple software update or if it would actually require replacing everything completely until things are fixed.
While the ongoing problems regarding the new Xbox Wireless Controllers don't technically make the new Xbox consoles usable, they also don't really inspire confidence in Microsoft's very own new design and hardware for its wireless controllers.
