Tesla flagship sedan Tesla Model S Plaid is expected to roll out of the company's Fremont Factory over in Northern California and onto the haulers for delivery to customers. There were reportedly at least 30 Model S builds that were spotted somewhere within the confines of Tesla's known Fremont Factory. Some of them show Yoke steering wheels while others reportedly showed a regular steering wheel.

Builds that have the normal steering wheel are actually believed to be a Dual Motor Long Range All-Wheel Drive powertrain, the Yoke, on the other hand, has been tied up to both the Plaid and Plaid+ variants of the said vehicle. GabeinCal reportedly spotted the new pack of Tesla Model S vehicles seen outside of the facility just this Saturday on March 6. This was after releasing certain photos of the fresh Model S during the recent Q4 2020 Earnings Call that was held in late January.

According to the story by Teslarati, more Model S vehicles were spotted some time late in February so it now appears that the automaker will actually be delivering quite a considerable amount of units to customers within the span of the upcoming weeks. The deliveries of these Tesla Model S were supposed to start in February. However, a number of delays over at the Fremont Factory could have inhibited the company from being able to fulfil this lofty time frame.

Semiconductor shortage affected Tesla

The previous month also offered a number of obstacles for electric car companies spanning the globe, according to Tesla. This was also due to the global shortage of semiconductors which had shut down Tesla's other marquee production plant for a total of two days back in February as confirmed by Elon Musk. The CEO then noted that it was really the part shortage that was to blame but the factory continued its operations just two days after having been shut down initially.

The Tesla Model S has been the company's flagship vehicle ever since the car was first delivered to other customers in 2012. Ever since then, the Tesla Model S has been able to go through a number of changes, which have also been related towards the cosmetics and performance in Tesla's nine years of production lines.

Tesla Model X and Model S production stops?

After Tesla had decided to stop production lines of both the X and S some time in December 2020, there were speculations that the given vehicle would be able to undergo a routine refresh that was spread through the whole automotive community. It was also confirmed later during the Q4 2020 Tesla Earnings Call. Details that pertained to the company's rejuvenation of the Model S have started to slowly leak onto social media.

Of all of the given Tesla modifications made to the Model X and Model S, the new Yoke Steering wheel is now arguably the most discussed feature. The new modified steering wheel design has still not been ruled as either illegal or in violation of the said NHTSA Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. This was confirmed to Teslarati some time earlier this week.
