Samsung Display Co. will start manufacturing these products by early June, with a monthly production target of under a million units. Around July, these displays should be ready and shipped to the assemblers.

Nintendo aims to sustain a Switch lineup that continues to sell well against the Playstation and Xbox. With these gadgets into their fifth year, both Microsoft Corp and Sony Corp have released new and powerful machines in the market.

Switch gaming communities have previously suggested online the introduction of an organic light-emitting diode screen (OLED). Still, Nintendo's President Suntaro Furukawa had stayed silent until last February, saying that his company had no plans to release a new Switch "anytime soon."

Nintendo in upgrading their consoles

Yoshio Tamura, the co-founder of display consultancy DSCC, quotes, "The OLED panel will consume less battery, offer higher contrast and possibly faster response time when compared to the Switch's current liquid-crystal display,"

Nintendo decided to go with OLED panels for the new models as a cheaper but less flexible alternative. These are the types commonly used for high-end smartphones.

Switch to have 4k ultra-high-definition graphics

The new display's resolution is similar to the current Switch and Switch Lite, but upgraded size compared to the Switch's 6.2-inch and the Lite's 5.5-inch. If the console's housing remains unchanged, we can expect the new Switch to feature a thinner bezel design.

Nintendo Switch remains to be one of the most popular gaming consoles, featuring its ability to be docked somewhere in your house or extreme portability of being carried on-the-go.

Nintendo has posted the previous year's earnings of a holiday quarter on selling over 11.57 million consoles over the year. Added to the sales it made since 2017, Switch has close to 80 million sold, overtaking the 3DS model in terms of lifetime sales. Nintendo continues to increase its forecast for the fiscal year, ending March 31st with a projected 26.5 million units sale.

Unfortunately, with the possible release of a new model, sales may drop. Consumers might opt to wait the year out in favor of buying the Switch 2021 upgraded version.

Although, no further information has been provided by Nintendo about the release date of these new Switch models in the market. Also, there is also no information about the next Switch's pricing.

The Nintendo community players speculate online the capabilities that this new Switch might bring. This includes the design of the handheld console and the screen graphics display.

It ends on a positive note that most players are excited to see the next Switch Model. Since the release of Nintendo Switch Lite in 2019, Switch has long been overdue for its upgrade.
