Elon Musk recently announced that he and the company are "creating" a new manufacturing facility for SpaceX, and would serve as a place that creates future spacecraft and other components needed by the company.
This venture already has a name and it would be called "Starbase" which is located in Austin, Texas, near its testing facility in Boca Chica.
The eccentric and popular multi-CEO of SpaceX and Tesla has already made the move to the East Coast of the country last year, after spending most of his life and work in California, now staying in Texas. On this announcement, Elon Musk is proudly announcing the new manufacturing facility of SpaceX, in which the original hails from Hawthorne, California.
The new facility would be ideal to be closer to its launch facility in Boca Chica, which is one of the most used sites where SpaceX and Musk decide to test its rockets and new Starships, with the previous SN8, SN9, and SN10. The manufacturing facility would almost be 350 miles away from the launch site, but it is closer to Boca Chica compared to California.
Elon Musk: SpaceX's 'Starbase' Facility
According to the popular CEO's tweets (@elonmusk), the company is already "creating" the "Starbase," Texas and it would be a "city" of its own when it rises and opens for all needs of SpaceX.
The interesting play of words from the CEO highly signifies that it would be a space company's facility, and the fact that he referred to it as a city means that it would be massive.
Musk is known for bringing massive facilities of his companies in the form of Tesla's multiple "Gigafactory" which is now spread all over the world and sustains the world's electric vehicle need in different regions. On the other hand, this venture would benefit SpaceX as it would alleviate the production of its headquarters in California, and other sites like the one in Boca Chica and Brownsville.
Apart from this, Elon Musk has moved most of his business to the Lone Star State, along with ventures from The Boring Company, Tesla, and Neuralink, which all have bases and hiring in Texas. Musk has placed massive hopes in the state, along with having its recent manufacturing facility in Texas for SpaceX that has already begun production.
Elon Musk: Texas' City of Starbase
Texas is the place to be and the "mini California" says Elon Musk in his recent interview with Joe Rogan in the "Joe Rogan Experience" podcast that happened last year. Here, Musk showed his fascination and interest in the state and has moved here in the past months where the CEO has already helped and contributed during the winter snowstorm that hit Texas.
Elon Musk and SpaceX's latest venture would not just be a regular facility but would be a "City" in the form of Starbase, Texas. Musk's revelations already suggest that it would be massive like the Gigafactories, and would all dedicate itself to creating the latest innovations and products that SpaceX can offer, mainly in going to Mars and the "Stars."
