Gab, another social media that call itself "free" and limitless like Parler, was recently hacked by so-called "Transparency Groups" which threatens to reveal user passwords, logins, and other data which are private. Gab is often referred to as a "far-right" social media, which has users that fled from moderated content platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

The popularity of these social media platforms erupted during the recent Facebook Boycott Movement which denounced the bad practices of the social networking company and its policies which people disagreed with. Initially, it was Parler who was the star of the show and has swooped in to offer a platform for outgoing users that does not want to be censored.

While Parler was the star of the show, an alternative application has also managed to go side-by-side and compete for downloads and ratings among the different users for the Apple App Store and Google Play. This is Gab, and it has been competing for the top spot with Parler for social media that holds no bars for users and their thoughts.

The hackers identified themselves as a "Transparency Group" and are managing a website that resembles Wikipedia in revealing different information and relaying their findings on different topics there. These hackers identify themselves as Distributed Denial of Secrets or "DDoSecrets," and have recently revealed that it holds a plethora of almost 70GB of user passwords and data from Gab.

All of these posts are reportedly about "far-right" ideals and private posts that are not meant for public knowledge says WIRED, and the team would make it available for journalists and social researchers. While there are no agendas or goals that the DDoS have revealed regarding this hack and leak, the hackers aim to provide "transparency" to the people.

Gab, like Parler, holds nothing barred for its users especially in posting to their heart's content and discussing any information or topics within private groups or chats and messages. This is one of the main features of Gab, and it has been in the platform that differs from the censored materials in Facebook and Twitter that does not provide liberty in social media.

Gab Suggests Hack is Orchestrated and Planned

According to Gab's CEO Andrew Torba, the "alleged data breach" that happened is a direct hit on the social media platform's integrity and name in the industry. Moreover, the CEO suggested that hackers and the media have connections and corroborated on the attack against Gab, particularly those who write negatively against the company.

The social media network is now in the works to fix the issue and vulnerability which was exploited by the hackers in the recent dispute and threats against the company. Moreover, the company is also addressing the massive attack against its infrastructures to improve the security of its users and the company in future events.
