'Valheim' lets you freely wander the open map by accessing the different locations in the game. One of the most dangerous places is the Swamp, where you can encounter different enemies, which can strike you at most, especially when you are unprepared.
The game also allows you to do a range of tasks like planting seeds. For this guide, you will learn how to plant carrots in "Valheim."
'Valheim' Swamp Guide: Preparation
First, we will teach you how you should prepare for the Swamp biome. According to Windows Central, remember to bring the following materials along your journey:
Bronze Armor and Weapons
Make sure to bring a buckler shield also to fortify your defense. To craft bronze, gather copper and tin ore which you can get from the Black Forest. You can now smelt them, then merge them together with the ingots at a Forge.
Mace
This blunt weapon is your go-to offense. Aim for a bronze mace and always upgrade it so you can easily wreck the enemies.
Finewood Bow and Flinthead Arrows
If you want to play as an archer, use this pair for an easy kill from the distance.
Food supply
To keep your hit points green, bring a wide variety of food like meat and berries. You can also get honey through beehive farming. Other options that you can consider are carrot, carrot soup, and mushrooms.
Poison Resistance Mead
Facing poisonous foes in the Swamp is a daily task that you will encounter. Make an antidote so you can withstand their attacks. You can also craft a healing mead to regenerate your health if you are damaged by them.
Wood
By the time you come to Swamp, ensure that you have a plentiful supply of wood in your karve, so building shelter will be much easier as you progress.

Construct a Portal, a Sturdy Structure, and Treehouse
Using 20 Finewood, 10 Greydwarf Eye, and two Surtling Core, you can now build a portal which you can name 'Swamp.' Upon your arrival to the destination, create another one with the same name. Through this, you can easily access the area back and forth when you are collecting supplies, retreating from enemies, and others.
On the other hand, a good defensive base will be your shield to the impending enemies while a treehouse lets you safely spot an area. It is also your escape from the monsters.
Clear the Area Using Hoe
This will not only keep your travel safer because of a clearer view, but it will let you walk smoothly so you can avoid swamp leeches.
Lure the Foes
If you see a Troll or a Grey dwarf, lure them to each other's base. This will clean the job for you since the two groups are enemies with each other.
Breathable Inventory, Poison Resistance Mead, and Torch
Before exploring the Swamp, drink the poison resistance mead so you can resist poison damage by half. You also need to free space for other items so you can get more resources later.
In addition, you can place torches as a mark of your way when you want to traverse the biome. Remember that you should fuel them using Resin so they will not spread across the area.
'Valheim' Swamp Guide: How to Get Sunken Crypts and Swamp Key
Sunken Crypts dungeons will offer a lot of rewards for the player. To open Sunken Crypts, you first need a swamp key which you can acquire by slaying The Elder. To do that, you need to accomplish the following:
First, mark its spot by searching the runestones at Black Forests. Next, you can now summon The Elder using three ancient seeds from the Greydwarf Brutes, or Burial Chambers, where you can find a chest.
Then, ready your fire arrows to kill The Elder, which is a humongous tree. You can also consider bringing melee weapons like swords and bronze axes. Lastly, don't stray far from the tree as you can lure Trolls and Grey Dwarves to attack you.
'Valheim' Guide: How to Plant Carrots
According to a report by Rock Paper Shotgun, planting carrots requires a serious job. To plant it, follow these steps:
First, make a Cultivator by collecting Core wood in the Black Forest.
Now, place it at the location that you will farm
Press right-click, then choose 'Cultivate,' Tap left click for the area clearance.
Now, you can right click to choose 'Carrot' provided that you have the seeds already
Click the ground to start farming.
To harvest carrots, click the grown carrot by pressing E. But, keep in mind that they will not produce seeds. For that, produce a Cauldron to make a Carrot Soup. You can now get seeds from it.
Now that you have the seed, put it in the inventory and place it in your Cultivator. Select carrot seeds by right-clicking and left-clicking if you want to plant them.
