Star Wars lovers and fans of the general video game nostalgia and another popular extension of the Star Wars universe, the "Star Wars: Republic Commando", will be getting another two platforms to play the game. "Star Wars: Republic Commando" will be releasing on both Nintendo Switch and PS4.

New Star Wars game 2021

There's no secret regarding the release date and fans can expect to experience the cult classic Star Wars title in all of its said HD-remastered glory.

This would make the game's debut to the Nintendo hardware and PlayStation 4 a huge step forward since the game was originally more Microsoft friendly than Sony friendly.

The original game was originally released on Windows PC and Xbox and was reportedly ported later on to the Xbox One in 2018.

According to the article by TechRadar, the original game, "Star Wars: Republic commando", initially launched back in 2005 and was supposedly developed by the Lucasfilm Games which is known as LucasArts.

'Clone Wars Star Wars' game

The game is reportedly set during the whole Clone Wars era and players will be assuming the role of "Boss," AKA RC-1338, AKA Delta Three, which is both an elite clone trooper as well as known clone commando, according to an article by PlayStation.

He is also responsible for leading the special ops unit, the Delta Squad, through a rolling series of missions all across a number of planets.

For those that have never really played the original game at all, the Delta Squad is still pretty recognizable from the previous Star Wars: The Clone Wars in a certain episode called "Witches From the Mist."

The game also earned an earlier passionate following when it was released building up through the years and is even considered as one of the best ever Star Wars games.

The game was also then adapted into five different novels and also features the famous voice of none other than Temuera Morrison or Jango Fett in the whole series prequel trilogy and Boba Fett during the latest season of the ongoing Disney+ hit,

The Mandalorian. Of course, the voice is also that of generally most of the different clone troopers that players have ever heard actually shout "for the Republic" before starting off on a battle-droid shooting spree.

Aspyr Media is also reportedly at the helm of this particular HD remaster. This was the exact same studio that was able to port Star Wars: Episode 1: Racer to both the Switch and PS4.

Although the original game features both multiplayer and single-player components, the known "Star Wars: Republic Commando" PS4 and Switch will reportedly only feature the said campaign mode.

The game will also be playable on the newer PS5 through backward compatibility.

The new Star Wars PS4 game and Star Wars Switch game will reportedly be selling at $14.99 and is also going to launch on the two different consoles at exactly the same date which is April 6.
