T-Mobile introduces a new plan for its subscribers along with their 5G expansion for faster web browsing and the avoidance of throttling. The T-Mobile Magenta Max plan will roll out on Feb. 24 and replacing the existing Magenta Plus offering. The new offering will launch for a limited time with a starting price of $47.
T-Mobile Magenta Max Plan
Gizmodo reports that the Magenta Max plan is a part of an update to all premium T-Mobile users and rising the data caps in a significant way. The standard Magenta plan that starts at $47 per line a month with three active lines gets 100GB of data per month. Meanwhile, the Magenta Max plan that starts at $57 a month with three lines will get unlimited data.
T-Mobile says that if users even get to use 200GB or more data, the browsing speed will always be fast, which means zero throttling for its users in the future.
This is a significant move for T-Mobile due to the complaints of 5G users, who always cap on their monthly plan in exchange for faster internet. Currently, AT&T's Unlimited Elite plan with three active lines for $60 a month only caps at 100GB of data, and Verizon's Get More Unlimited with three active lines for $65 a month is only 50GB.
With that said, T-Mobile's Magenta Max Plan is a definite no-brainer decision for all smartphone users who are looking for a cheaper monthly plan and faster mobile internet.
Endgadget reports that the Magenta Max Plan from T-Mobile includes unlimited video streaming at 4K resolutions and comes with 40GB of high-speed tethering data. However, the company will throttle the user's speed to 3G if they go over the limit.
T-Mobile claims that users worldwide can avail of the Magenta Max plan, and nobody will be a throttle user anymore. The telecommunications company also stated that they decided to roll out this plan to show the power of 5G network can truly do.
Magenta Max Plan Will Have Netflix Subscriptions
According to Cnet, the Magenta Max plan will feature Netflix's Standard plan ($14 per month) subscription that allows HD streaming if users have two or more lines. In contrast, users who have a single Max line will be given a subscription for Netflix's non-HD Basic plan ($9 per month).
Besides that, T-Mobile's Magenta Max plan can access the GoGo in-flight Wi-Fi and texting and be able to take advantage of the same data speeds offered on the Magenta Plus when traveling abroad.
T-Mobile Chief Marketing Officer Matt Staneff tells Cnet that the company will not automatically change those who are still on the Magenta Plus to the Magenta Max plan. Staneff says that users have the freedom to choose for themselves to get the new plan, which is a long-standing policy of the company. "We don't change your plan, only you can change your plan," Staneff says.
