While Apple has been seen switching their designs over the years in order to fit in and also ride on the latest trends, an Apple vintage sign will make its appearance in a virtual auction bidding for a whopping $12,000! This was supposedly an original Apple retail sign that was previously used in order to advertise the company's said computers somewhere during the late 1970s. The vintage Apple sign is expected to hit the auction block later in February starting off at a price of $12,000.
Apple 1978 vintage sign: rainbow Apple sign
According to the story by AppleInsider, the sign reportedly measures exactly four feet by five feet and was reportedly displayed by a particular authorized reseller who had actually first learned about Apple at a certain computer conference that took place in 1976. The sign itself is dated all the way back to 1978, it now goes up for auction this coming Thursday.
Nate D. Sanders Auctions notes that this particular acrylic sign has quite a few surface markings as well as some yellowing. The colors of the said classic rainbow Apple logo, however, still remain bright and the overall sign is said to be in very good condition itself despite being dated back in 1978.
Apple auctions go as high as $460,000
Due to the ongoing pandemic, the upcoming auction listing is said to be virtually identical to the previous one that had happened back in March 2020 aside from the said price, which had previously started at $20,000. However, it still is not clear if it is actually the exact same sign that had just dropped in price.
Apple products or Apple memorabilia coming from the company's reported early days are now quite popular and also pricy auction items. One of the rare functional Apple-1 computers actually sold at an auction back in 2020 for nearly $460,000! Back in 2019, another original manual for the said Apple-1 has been able to fetch a price of $12,000 in a particular Boston-based auction house.

From Steve Jobs to Tim Cook
There is a huge distinction, however, as to which products mark up in price and which products do not. As of the moment, nobody is really that interested in buying the older iPhones due to them not being able to function properly due to its reportedly outdated OS. However, other marketing items might be able to fetch such a price as they represent Apple's humble beginnings when they weren't as big as they are today.
Apple is one of the giant companies of today that started all the way back as just another company. Steve Jobs, the previous face of Apple, has reportedly contributed quite a lot to the design development as well as the overall shaping of what the company is today. As of the moment, Tim Cook leads Apple and the company has reportedly regained the spot of top smartphone seller of Q4 2020 after four years even beating Samsung according to the report of CNBC.
