Apple has released the first look on the new and updated Emoji keyboard that comes along with the iOS 14.5, now featuring new heart symbols, skin tones for the LGBTQ++ lovers, a syringe that lost its blood, and more. The iOS 14.5 would be showcasing these new symbols for people to express their messages better and has been a mainstay for the Apple keyboard.
The most valuable technology company in the world, Apple, has released the first look on the latest emojis of its smart device's keyboards including the iPhone and iPad which share the iOS 14.5. While the latest version of the company's operating system is still on beta testing mode for developers, the new emojis would soon come for everyone to use.
Emojis were initially a unique way to showcase and convey more emotions and feelings through messages, which were initially required to enter keyboard commands or copy-paste them from a website. Apple was the first to introduce it to the smartphone's keyboards, then was followed by Google's Android for the built-in keyboard that no longer needed apps.
Apple iOS 14.5 New Emojis: 217 Additions for the Keyboard
According to Emojipedia's blog post, Apple would soon be debuting these new emojis for Apple's iOS Keyboards after the beta testing phase of the iOS 14.5 ends. Soon, these 217 new additions would be helping people convey messages via their smartphone keyboards, which is initially exclusive to iPhone and iPad users.
Various emojis would be added and those would significantly add more options and gender flexibility for LGBTQ++ people, along with fluidity on who would get beards. Moreover, Apple would also add different skin tone genders who "kiss each other" on the Emoji, which doubles up on the company's inclusivity for the characters.
Hearts
Two new hearts would join Apple's iOS 14.5 update and those are the Heart on Fire and Mending Heart emojis, which is a timed addition during the love month of February.
Smiley Faces
There would only be three new additions to the yellow smiley faces family of Emojis and it includes Exhaling Face, Spiral Eyes Faces, and Face in the Clouds expressions.
Syringe
On the other hand, Apple is updating its previous design of the Syringe emoji and removes the Blood (and spill) to a clear liquid that is speculated to be representing the vaccines for COVID-19.
Skin Tone Couples
According to Forbes, Apple's inclusivity has also widened as couples who kiss each other and have hearts on top of them are also getting a makeover, particularly as they get new skin tones. LGBT couples of different races would have more appropriate and fitting emojis to use.
LGBTQ++ New Emojis
On the other hand, LGBTQ++ new emojis have also dropped, particularly the beard emoji that also includes women or trans people who grow facial hair.
Apple AirPods Max
Apple updated the headphones emoji to resemble the latest release of the AirPods Max headphones, which got the iconic silver design of its body.
