Sony is now facing a class-action lawsuit and complaint against a US Lawfirm which claims that the PlayStation 5's DualSense controller presents an issue called "drift," which is a defect. While there are not many reports about this, the firm has launched an investigation that discovered the defective controllers and claims that Sony knows about the issue.
The popular Japanese media and entertainment conglomerate, Sony, is allegedly hiding the problems and issues of the DualSense controller of the PS5, saying that most of its releases are defective and malfunctioning. The Sony Corporation of America and Sony Interactive Entertainment are caught in the issue and faces the complaint of the law firm.
Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donaldson-Smith LLP (CSK&D) is now leading the case against Sony and its United States division for the controller drift that was brought up by Lmarc Turner to the US District Court of Southern New York. This lawsuit is the first that is filed against the PlayStation 5 and the DualSense controller for the latest release of the gaming console.
PS5 DualSense Controller Drift Lawsuit
According to IGN's report, the PlayStation 5 DualSense Controller has deceived a lot of players in its almost four months of availability and sale to the public. Moreover, Chimicles Schwartz Kriner & Donalsdon-Smith claims that Sony knew about the issues and problems of the latest controller release but did not disclose anything to the public.
The law firm calls this "fraudulent, deceptive, unlawful, and unfair" and has formally filed a lawsuit against Sony to answer to their alleged crimes and unfair tactics. The report said that DualSense controllers are defective because it moves the characters on the game on its own, without the players touching the joystick present on the device.
This defect or problem is known as "controller drift" which usually shows up to beat up and overly used console controller. The lawsuit claims that Sony has already received massive complaints through the online platform that pertains to the DualSense controller but has ignored it and left it to be a secret.

Lmarc Turner, the plaintiff, brought their PlayStation 5 console to Sony's customer service and has reported its controller drift issues despite the recent purchase of the console last February 5. The only advice given to him was to reset the console and its controller connectivity which gave no luck in fixing the issue.
The PlayStation 5 is still one of the highly demanded gaming consoles in the market, and technology device since its release last November 2020. People are combing the internet to find their respective stocks and availability of the gaming console as it still sees a shortage several months after the initial release.
