Southern Florida citizens were left in awe after looking up at the sky Tuesday night, February 9, believing they have just seen a UFO due to the strange and eerie light in the sky, but it turns out that no aliens were visiting Earth and what they had seen is something more dangerous.
Citizens Claimed to See a UFO
In a report by Mirror, eyewitnesses immediately went on Twitter and proclaimed that they have "seen a UFO flying over South Florida" and that they have "never seen anything like it before."
According to one eyewitness who wrote on their social media, the strange light was a triangle in shape and had dim "orange-ish" lights at the corner and was the "realist unexplainable thing" they have ever seen.
Nevertheless, it turned out that the source of the eerie light was a Trident II submarine missile, which was being tested in southern Florida, USA.

NOTAMs Posted by the Government
According to a report by The Drive, the government has actually posted a series of notice to airmen, or NOTAMs, in recent days, letting them know of the potential missile testing off the coast of southern Florida.
Based on the report, the missile was launched on Tuesday night and had a reentry area to the east of Ascension Island.
The total downrange travel distance of the missile was at around 5,200 miles.
Such tests are vital for both America and Britain to guarantee the countries' second-strike capability that underpins both of the nation's nuclear deterrents.
As of writing, it is unclear whether the launch was from the United States' Navy or the United Kingdom's Royal Navy nuclear ballistic missile submarine.
But the news outlet noted that the information from the alerts that were sent ahead of the time, it seemed like the launch was similar to the one carried out by the Royal Navy that was done in 2016 at the Atlantic.
It also appeared that both launches had similar intended trajectories.
No Aliens and Assuring Safety
To assure the public that it was nothing of the third-kind, CBS News meteorologist Zach Covey also commented on the issue via Twitter, saying, "No, that's not a UFO. It was a Trident-II SLBM Missile Test from a submarine off the coast of Florida. The missile test had been scheduled for the past few days and we just so happened to catch it tonight."
The test was scheduled to happen sometime between February 9 to February 14, according to a Twitter post by Dutch archaeologist and Leiden University Space Situational Awareness consultant, Dr. Marco Langbroek.
Even an astronomy and physics lab coordinator from the Florida Atlantic University, Eric Vandernoot, said that there were no aliens flying above South Florida.
However, he did say that the launch might have been extremely high up in the sky as people from both the Hobe Sound and the Bahamas were able to see it simultaneously, so people should not be worried about the missile testing at all.
Until now, neither the US Navy nor the UK Royal Navy has made no comments regarding the missile test.
